Portraits

Photographer Benjamin Lieber and I came together looking to create portraits of a bygone era. The inspiration: actors of cinema from the late 60’s-early 70’s (Jack Nicholson, Paul Newman, Robert Redford, Sidney Poitier, Dennis Hopper…)

I became familiar with Benjamin through his work with the band Ugly Sun (whose latest record has been my soundtrack of the summer). Benjamin is an artist. His passion for using film and capturing authentic moments is magnetizing. I needed to work with him.

It was an enjoyable evening spent with Benjamin and Tai Ceme (our HMU artist) as we bopped around the streets of Brooklyn with our time machine. We only got kicked out of one diner and one laundromat!

It’s invigorating to surround yourself with talented and passionate people.
